Hearing Valley: from a project to an advanced research and development environment
The Hearing Valley project supports Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) activities across audiology and signal processing by bringing together and coordinating the collaboration of the health care system, basic research institutions, and industrial partners. By establishing an RDI infrastructure and a business ecosystem the project enhances the needed advances in audiology and signal processing. The project addresses the increasing demand for advanced hearing-rehabilitation and signal processing solutions in Finland as hearing-loss-related issues become more and more common.
Hearing Valley is a project co-funded by the European Union and implemented by the University of Eastern Finland during the period from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2026. In addition, it is a project of the Towards Better Hearing research group at Kuopio University Hospital.
